Hiking Colorado's Front Range
My first introduction to the western mountains of tNorth America, as a young teenager in 1969, was the Front Range, which rises abruptly from the Great Plains. I have lived along the Front Range and on the Western Slope and these two areas have a distinctly different feel. I love both, and although Colorado is not the same place it was in 1969, it is still possible to hike and not encounter loads of people. As one moves up Front Range hiking trails, you can soon see the string of cities that line the Front Range, and the vast expanse of the Great Plains moving to the east. I have experiences from many of those cities and I often stand and look over them and allow memories in. But I also love the dry, hot, exertion I feel on those trails in summer. It is difficult to express these feelings in words so I hope these photographs begin to tell that story.
