I've been to Amsterdam twice. Once during my first trip abroad in 1978, and in January of 2020 on my way back from visiting family in Sweden. My wife and I spent two days there, and walked many miles. It's a great city. On my first trip there, I remember the museums, the Heinekin Brewery, and talking with PanAm in a phone booth while my Australian acquaintance was being harassed by two junkies right next to the booth. I also remember the Youth Hostel that had a bar and was plying "Some Girls" by the Rolling Stones, and it was the first time I'd heard that album. This time, Val and I stumbled across a restaurant that featured some super talented singing wait staff. We were really lucky because we had no idea what we were getting into.
